Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Banana, Spinach Smoothie?! Wait, What?!

This is both my favorite smoothie and my husband’s favorite smoothie. It is awesome because it is another smoothie where I put vegetables inside and you never know. If you didn’t get a chance to read my post about the magic of masked taste vegetable smoothies you can click here to read it.

One of the reasons why I love this smoothie so much is because it is a dessert smoothie. Although you can eat this at anytime during the day, it is basically like having a dessert.

Another great thing about this smoothie is you can eat this when you are having sweet cravings. It will satisfy you’re cravings, and help reduce them overall.

Sidenote: Many people do not know this, but when we are craving something, it actually means our body is missing something from our diet. When we crave sweets, we need to boost the protein in our diet.

This smoothie will provide you with a generous serving of potassium, iron, and protein. If you are trying to watch your weight, or even up your vitamin intake, going for this smoothie rather than a milkshake is a wise choice.

The Recipe

As I always recommend, you do not have to follow this recipe precisely. You may add or takeaway portions to your liking.

2 Bananas

2 or more cups of dairy free milk of your choice ( I use Almond or sometimes mix Coconut milk with Almond milk)

2 Tablespoons of raw cacao. Non-sweeted.

2 tablespoons of peanut butter

1 tablespoon of chia seeds or hemp seeds

1-2 generous handfuls of spinach

(Optional) A couple pinches of dehydrated coconut - mmm so good in this smoothie

(Optional Ice) to make it more cold and slushy like. It actually fills you up quicker. I highly reccommend.

To conclude

This smoothie will not disappoint. If you are giving it to a non-veggie lover and you know they need veggies (like my mom) you do not have to tell them it has spinach in it. Like I said in the post I linked above. The banana and almond milk will be your base to create a neutral flavor that overrides the taste of vegetables as long as you stick to 1 handful. If you want to add more spinach, you must add more banana and almond milk. Not only does this eliminate sweet cravings but the raw cacao has antioxidants in it. You will feel rejuventated after consuming this delicious beverage.
